Italic chair at the University of Mar de Plata

For the first time in the academic world, an Italic Chair is inaugurated

At the University of Mar de Plata (Argentina), from 9th to 12th September the first activities of the open Chair in “Italic community and glocalization” will take place.

On the 9th, there will be the official inauguration of the Chair. The event is linked to Fiesa (Feria Internacional de Educatión Superiore Argentina) which will take place in March 2020. The heads of the University of Mar de Plata will participate to the inauguration, in addition to the Italian Ambassador of Argentina, Giuseppe Manzo; the Italian Consul of Mar de Plata, Dario Cortese; the Director of the Italian Cultural Institute of Buenos Aires, Donatella Cannova, as well as other personalities related to the city of Mar de Plata.

The Chair has been promoted by a group of personalities from different professional worlds: Alfredo D’Ambrosio, Bettina Favero, Riccardo Giumelli, Juan Pablo Morea, Fabio Porta, Domingo di Tullio and others; all coordinated and promoted by the Deputy Director of the University, Daniel Antenucci.

In the following days, from 10th to 12th, there will be three seminars that go under the name of “Glocalism, Italicity and Made in Italy“, held by Professor Riccardo Giumelli, professor and sociologist at the University of Verona.

The main theme of the chair will be Italicity, a phenomenon closely linked to the global context, or rather global.
