The rise of the network society
01 January 2008
October 15, 2006 by Schola Italica in Italicity

There have always been Italics and, deciding to go back in time, one could say that the first Italic was even Marco Polo: a traveler who managed to bring together two distant and distinct civilizations. Many other Italians who have left the motherland and settled in various parts of the world in past centuries can be considered proto-Italics.

This brief history on the birth and the establishment of the conceptual category called “Italicity” aims to present both the path taken by the name that is at the base of the Italic community, “Italicity” in fact, and the progressive consolidation and the increased self-perception of the community same.
